Museum Studies graduate of Walsh University with an interest in history, curation and collections care.
About
I’m Rachel Hirnikl. I was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. A recent graduate of Walsh University, I have a Bachelor’s degree in Museum Studies with a minor in History. Currently, I’m interning at MAPS Air Museum where I am assisting the museum director in drafting a collection management policy. I’ve had a lifelong passion for history, specifically American history, and I’m thrilled at the prospect of working in the museum field. My goal is to work in the curatorial department of a history museum, working directly with the collection.
I strongly believe in the preservation of humanity’s collective, shared history. Museums represent, to me, not only the knowledge of the past but also the forward-looking preservation of it for posterity. Through my career, I aspire to contribute to this endeavor, preserving the past and educating the public.
